With AdBlock for Chrome, you don’t have to see anymore pre-roll video ads or anywhere else on YouTube. AdBlock blocks all ads on YouTube upon install: say goodbye to pre-roll, mid-roll, even the ads in the “Up Next” sidebar. AdBlock allows you to experience YouTube completely free from distractions.
- AdBlock for Chrome works automatically. Just click 'Add to Chrome,' then visit your favorite website and see the ads disappear! Choose to continue seeing unobtrusive ads, whitelist your favorite.
- Adblock Plus and (a little) more 37,000 fooled after ABP imposter gets in Web Store; how to make sure you’ve got the real ABP 2017-10-10 12:51 by Ben Williams. Apparently there was a phony Adblock Plus app in the Chrome Web Store that 37,000 people downloaded.
If you keep running into errors when you're trying to install AdBlock from the Chrome Web Store, you can try 'sideloading' it instead. That means installing the extension manually, using its .crx installation file.
Warning: It's safe to install AdBlock manually because you'll be getting our .crx file directly from the Chrome Web Store. In general, it's not a good idea to install extensions that you get from somewhere other than the Chrome Web Store.
Note: If you install AdBlock without going through the Chrome Web Store, you will not get updates automatically when we release them.
Note: Chrome 63 doesn't allow installing extensions from a .crx file. If you're using Chrome 63, follow the alternate instructions below.
1. Get AdBlock's .crx file
- Visit http://chrome-extension-downloader.com.
- Copy AdBlock's Chrome Web Store ID and paste it in the box on the site: gighmmpiobklfepjocnamgkkbiglidom
- Click Download extension.
- Click Keep when Chrome warns you the file might be dangerous. (It's not. This is Chrome's way of notifying you you're getting a Chrome installation file from somewhere other than the Chrome Web Store.)
2. Install it in Chrome
